Ephraim Pottery Studio Gallery
Where the Ephraim lifestyle comes to life |
|
The
Ephraim Pottery Studio Gallery
is located
in downtown Lake Mills, a charming,
historic small town about 20 minutes east of Madison, Wisconsin. Just 1
mile south of I-94, Lake Mills' pretty downtown, with its old-fashioned
central park, unique shops, and restaurants, offers a refreshing change
of pace from the monotony of the interstate.
Ephraim's gallery has the best selection of our
pottery in the country. A wide variety of pieces from
our catalog are always available. The
gallery is the only retail source of second-quality and irregular pieces
of Ephraim, offered at 25%-50% off regular prices. Occasionally you may
find other special surprises, such as wall pockets, miniatures or
experimental pieces or ornaments. New to our pottery?

The Ephraim Pottery
Studio Gallery
also carries select other Arts-and-Crafts style
furniture and decorative arts, including
Archive Edition Textiles,
Mission-style furniture from Head, Heart & Hand,
and gorgeous letterpress cards from Saturn
Press.

The
Cream City brick structure that houses
the gallery was built around 1892 by the Fargo Dairy Supply Company. Over
the years it had housed the Lake Mills Leader newspaper offices, a
printing company, a barber shop/bathhouse, and the police department, to
name just a few of the tenants. Most recently it had been used as a
municipal building and city garage. After sitting vacant since 1999, it
has been transformed into an arts building. Other residents include 3-D
Dance Studio and Sweet Lips Art & Gift Gallery, which carries
colorful, whimsical objects made mainly by American artists and also
serves coffee, gelato and smoothies. |

|
In addition to the Ephraim Pottery studio
and office, the lower floor of the building now houses an exhibit and
demonstration area which is free and open to the public.
Exhibits include historical, educational and changing features. When
potters happen to be working in the front studio, visitors can watch them
throwing pots from a glassed-in observation area (weekdays only). The
exhibit area is usually open during regular business hours (closed holidays). Please come visit!
