The number of people who continue to submit photos to our contest
each year are a testament to just how fun (and addicting)
photographing Ephraim pottery can be. While getting a beautiful
photo can be challenging, it can also be inspirational and immensely
satisfying.
This year's theme: Ephraim At Home
Photos submitted should show either how Ephraim pottery
enhances the entrant's home or how Ephraim pottery looks at
home in Nature. Creative and seasonal interpretations of this theme
are welcome.
Judging Criteria
Photos will be judged on their beauty, clarity, color, composition,
and appropriateness to the contest theme. Photos should be unique
and convey and appealing mood. Photos will also be judged on their
suitability for inclusion in the 2011 Collectors' Calendar. A
horizontal format is preferred but not required.
Contest Rules
-
Photos must be realistic and
representational - using artsy filters can be fun, but we can't
use altered photos for the calendar.
-
Interior photos must be of the entrant's
own residence.
-
No people may appear in the photo, but
pets are okay. (We like pets.)
-
Photos must be free of any copyright.
-
All pottery or ceramics appearing in the
photo must be Ephraim Faience. Photos containing pottery or
ceramics other than EFP will not be considered.
-
Entrants will be awarded no more than 3
prizes maximum, each at a different level (this includes
runner-up coupons).
-
Each entrant's submission is limited to a
maximum of 25 photos.
-
Photos may be submitted in either
traditional print or digital format, but digital format is
preferred (jpg or tiff only, please).
Whether print or digital, a large size is required in order for
us to achieve a quality reproduction. Photos that are too small,
blurry, dark etc. will not be considered. Digital photos should
be taken at the highest resolution possible and must be a
minimum of 1600 x 1200 pixels.
-
Entries may be submitted by email or by
regular mail. Email is preferred. Whichever entry
format you choose, please include your name, mailing address,
phone number and email address with your submission(s).
-
Emailed submissions
should be sent to
info@ephraimpottery.com. Email entries will be acknowledged
with an email reply. Please put "Photo Contest" in the subject
line and limit each email to a maximum of 10 MB (send multiple
emails if sending more than 10 MB of photos). When sending
multiple emails, it is helpful if you also number each email out
of the total being sent in the subject line (i.e. Photo Contest
1 of 5, Photo Contest 2 of 5, etc.).
-
Entries on CD or flash (jump) drive should
be mailed to Ephraim Pottery, Attn: Photo Contest, 203 W. Lake
St., Lake Mills, WI 53551. Please include a thumbnail printout
of the photos submitted. Mailed entries will not be acknowledged
unless a SASE is included with your submission.
-
The deadline
for entries to be postmarked or emailed is midnight on
Wednesday, March 31.
-
Employees of Ephraim Faience Pottery,
Inc., their immediate households, and employees of their
authorized retailers are ineligible.
-
All entries become the property of Ephraim
Faience Pottery, Inc. and will not be returned. By entering
photos into this contest, you give Ephraim Faience Pottery, Inc.
permission to use your photograph(s) for any purpose it wishes,
including but not limited to its print and digital marketing
materials, its website, and its newsletter.
-
By entering photos into this contest, you
certify your acceptance of and adherence to the contest rules.
Entries not in conformance with the contest rules will be
disqualified.
