In 2024 we collaborated with Dard Hunter Studios to create a custom line of frames that highlight the beauty and craftsmanship of Ephraim Pottery. Dard Hunter Studios frames are handcrafted of quartersawn oak and finished using their four step Signature process producing a beautiful top-quality frame. Always look for the Dard Hunter Studios Rose Logo branded into the wood on the back of the frame, as your assurance that this is the 100% genuine article. Dard Hunter Studios, founded in 1994 by Dard Hunter III, continues the legacy of his grandfather, Dard Hunter Sr., an iconic figure in the American Arts & Crafts movement. Operating from the historic Mountain House in Chillicothe, Ohio, the studio specializes in meticulously crafted frames made from quarter sawn White Oak. Dard Hunter III personally oversees the production process, from selecting wood with optimal ray flake to transforming it into one of five moulding profiles. The studio’s commitment to quality and efficiency allows them to offer top-tier Mission style frames at competitive prices, while repurposing any wood that doesn’t meet their exacting standards. -

Our New Frond vase is a harmonious new friend to perfectly unify your collection. This vase celebrates spring’s earliest arrival—the fiddlehead—on a structured and traditional Arts and Crafts form. Inspired by the historic and iconic Grueby Faience Pottery’s fern-handled vases circa 1910, Ephraim artists revisited the fern and leaf theme in these small, rounded vases. We wonder what this little turtle ponders as he lazes away an idyllic summer day. Ephraim artist, Becky Hansen has an affinity for turtles, and so it is her glazing artistry that brings this vase to life. Since we opened our West Coast Gallery in Cambria, California in 2012, we embraced natural beauty of California. Our California customers encouraged us to feature their state flower, the California Poppy and now we turn to this motif often as a source of inspiration. The studio revisits our popular Craftsman Rose motif in this tall, elegant vase. Bold architecture and abstract, stylized roses anchor the top of the vase. The tritone is a musical interval composed of three adjacent whole tones. Ephraim artists play with a variation on this theme by creating three precisely, hand-rendered flower buds that encircle a small, soft form.
