Since opening the Ephraim Pottery West Coast Gallery in 2012, we have become more familiar with the variety of California’s natural beauty, and local customers encouraged us to create a piece featuring their state flower, the California Poppy. Here, golden-edged orange poppies flutter in high relief on the side of a slim bottle glazed in aquamarine tones which evoke the Pacific Ocean. Handmade to order. When several Ephraim artists travelled to Costa Rica, they were struck by the beautiful drape and bright blue color of these blossoms, inspiring this hand-sculpted vessel. The skyflower is widely cultivated by Central and South American gardeners for its floral clusters that bloom to attract butterflies and hummingbirds year round. Handmade to order. This stunning, impressive vase features our favorite neighborhood orchid—the Lady Slipper Orchid. The leaves of the orchid rise diagonally on the face of the vase to form three handles, while the eye-catching blooms rest on the shoulder of the vase, between the leaves.
