Studio Scenes • October 2019 Edition
Lots to report this month!
From daffodils to acorns, the pace of life as we slide from summer through autumn is dizzying. This month in the studio we wrap up pumpkin making and move into creating ornaments as we welcome a new artist. Kevin is off on his bi-annual trek to Cambria to visit Ephraim Pottery’s West Coast Gallery.
Winter pottery making begins in October!
Meet Matt Drees, our newest artist
Matt comes to us with a BFA in Art and Design from University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. In school Matt initially focused on two-dimensional design, but after a couple of years took an interest in ceramics and throwing on the potter’s wheel. He eventually merged his emotive gestural line drawings with wheel-thrown ceramic vessels. We look forward to Matt’s contributions to design in the studio.
