Three poppies burst into bloom atop this sculptural bowl. The form begins as a fully enclosed vessel on the potter’s wheel — then, through careful cutting and hand-sculpting, the flowers emerge, their petals opening to reveal the bowl beneath. Each poppy is individually shaped and detailed, with delicate veining across the petals. Small buds encircle the base, waiting for their turn. Efflorescence — the act of bursting into flower — perfectly describes both the technique and the feeling of this striking design. Offered in two colorways: bold red poppies on a deep Chestnut green, and delicate white poppies on a warm Wheat glaze.
