A COLLECTION YEARS IN THE MAKING

Early in Kevin’s pottery journey, something unexpected happened. A neighbor from his childhood reached out with a request: could he make an urn? Then a professor from his college days asked the same. It wasn’t something Kevin (Ephraim’s founder) had imagined when he stood at the wheel. But as he shaped those vessels, he felt the weight of it—not just the clay, but the trust, the memory, the love they would hold.

Over the years, these requests kept coming. From parents who’d lost children, from children who’d lost parents, from friends saying goodbye to friends. We’ve made pet urns too, understanding that family comes in many forms. Each time, we felt that same weight, that same privilege of creating something to hold what matters most.

We’ve been making these vessels quietly for decades, one family at a time. This week, we’re taking a meaningful step: expanding our offerings and making our Memorial Urn Collection available more broadly and timely. We’ve developed new designs—from palm-sized keepsakes meant for sharing among loved ones to larger vessels adorned with roses, oak leaves, dragonflies, and other symbols from nature’s quiet language. And now, we can hand-inscribe custom text on the lids, adding names, dates, or words that matter, glazed permanently into the clay.

Because we understand that these moments often come without warning, we now keep many pieces ready in our studio and galleries, allowing us to respond with care when time matters most.

We know these pieces often find their way to people through word of mouth—through friends who remember, through families who’ve been there.
