In honor of spring renewal and April’s Earth Day, our April Mug Club offering celebrates the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi—finding beauty in the imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete.
Unlike mass-produced perfection, these handmade mugs showcase the natural variations that occur when mineral-rich glazes flow and meld during firing. Each stripe of green, blue, and gray creates a unique horizon pattern that captures the organic essence of our natural world.
This mug doesn’t just hold your favorite beverage—it beckons touch and interaction, inviting you to notice the fingerprint, the brush stroke, the throwing line and see the value in them. It offers a daily reminder to appreciate the beauty in small imperfections and to value the handmade in our increasingly digital world.
Join us in embracing wabi-sabi this April with a mug that’s as individual as the hands that crafted it and as unique as the person who will treasure it.
Mug Club offerings are limited editions of no more than 200 pieces. Order while supply lasts.
Handmade to order. No two pieces of the same design look exactly alike, that’s part of the magic of handmade ceramics. Because we lean away from technologies like molds, templates, and casts, each piece is wholly unique. Minor variations in size, decoration, color and finish are intrinsic to our pottery. Please expect and embrace the variation inherent in our process.
