Early last spring, Ephraim artist Matthew Drees spent an afternoon sketching as he hiked through the thawing Wisconsin landscape. Taking design cues from Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Drees created this wonderful vase from those sketches. Each Waking Marsh Vase is meticulously hand-painted and finished in our new cream-colored glaze.

Because we lean away from technologies like molds, templates, and casts, each piece is wholly unique. Minor variations in size, decoration, color and finish are intrinsic to our pottery.
