Cat lovers have been asking for another cat design and this tile delivers! A graceful, elongated cat turns its nose toward a bowing ginkgo branch, all framed by a dramatic border. This special tile is finished in two glaze combinations–a white cat with a blue crackle glaze and a black cat with a sage/teal colorway and yellow crackle. Handmade to order. The exquisite geometry of the honeybee’s nest inspires awe. This tile takes a bird’s-eye view of a honeycomb and bee, reminiscent of an antique engraving. Handmade to order. Since opening the Ephraim Pottery West Coast Gallery in Cambria, California in 2012, we have become more familiar with the variety of California’s natural beauty. Local customers encouraged us to create pottery that features their state flower, the California Poppy. Here, golden-edged orange poppies in low relief sculpture are the focal point of a circular composition and vignetted by a hammered texture. The 4-inch tile is glazed in a cheerful Aqua glaze with Teal edges to evoke the colors of the Pacific Ocean. Handmade to order. In 2024 we collaborated with Dard Hunter Studios to create a custom line of frames that highlight the beauty and craftsmanship of Ephraim Pottery. Dard Hunter Studios frames are handcrafted of quartersawn oak and finished using their four step Signature process producing a beautiful top-quality frame. Dard Hunter Studios, founded in 1994 by Dard Hunter III, continues the legacy of his grandfather, Dard Hunter Sr., an iconic figure in the American Arts & Crafts movement. Operating from the historic Mountain House in Chillicothe, Ohio, the studio specializes in meticulously crafted frames made from quarter sawn White Oak. Dard Hunter III personally oversees the production process, from selecting wood with optimal ray flake to transforming it into one of five moulding profiles. Sometimes nature in its simplest form is best. On this tile, a branch of pinecones is centered in a four-inch square composition, creating a pleasing vignette which complements our full range of pine-motif designs.
