  • The Craftsman Tile Wall Shelf is made from quarter-sawn white oak. Ephraim artist, John Raymond, makes components of each shelf from the same board to ensure the best grain match and applies a stain and seals the shelf with a satin finish to heighten the medullary rays of the quarter-sawn grain. John brands each piece with Ephraim Studio’s logo. The shelf accommodates our 4" x 4" art tiles (Acorn Tile, shown) sold separately. This piece is a perfect way to showcase your favorite Ephraim Pottery vase. Learn more about our process.

Ephraim’s frames are made in very much the same way that woodworkers did in the early 20th century. Quarter-sawn white oak is carefully selected, paying special attention to the direction of the grain and the character of the wood. Then comes the intricate process of cutting, planing, and sanding. No metal hardware is used to secure the joints; pegs add extra stability and aesthetic appeal. The multi-step finishing process incorporates fuming, staining, shellacking, and waxing. Our logo is burned into the back, which also features a keyhole notch for hanging. Learn more about our process.

Tile stands from Ephraim Studios are a great solution for those who wish to display our tiles on a tabletop. Our stands are made by hand using a process similar to that of our frames. White oak is cut, planed, and sanded to perfection, then fumed and stained to darken the wood to a classic Arts-and-Crafts hue. Polyurethane is applied to seal and protect the wood.
