This piece pays homage to the ground-breaking artistry of the historic Grueby Faience Company. We proudly feature Alek's contributions to our studio with a special vase that he designed for the occasion – the Blooming Lotus Vase. The Blooming Lotus Vase is the result of months of experimenting with various carved botanical designs. It nicely balances rigid and curvilinear lines in a pleasing way. Finished in a bright palette of teal, chestnut, pink, and red, this piece is truly stunning. It is our tradition at Ephraim for artists to commemorate a milestone at the pottery with a special design. This year Alek Schroeder celebrates this momentous milestones. Artist Anniversary Series pieces are available for only one year. Alek's Blooming Lotus Vase will retire on July 14th, 2021. Artist anniversaries signify much more to us than merely "loyal years" of coming to work. Artists at the studio exert a major influence on the ever-evolving art that we make. The aesthetic sensibilities and honed techniques of each of our members collectively define Ephraim's art. It is a beautiful - and novel - model for an art pottery. This model means that Ephraim's body of work would have been far different without Alek's strong design abilities that emphasize line and symmetry. Individual sensibilities make our art eclectic and yet the way these ideas filter through others, make our pieces cohesively Ephraim. Handmade to order. The edges of roadways, vacant lots, and other barren and rocky places are inhospitable to all but the toughest of plants. Where others may see weeds, we see wildflowers. The creamy white of Queen Anne's Lace plays off the cool blue of chicory, dainty petals mixing with woody stalks and spiky leaves. This piece celebrates the resilient kind of beauty that thrives despite long odds. Handmade to order. Please allow up to four weeks for production and delivery.

A simple bowing pine branch bends at the rim of this sweet vase. The flowing lines of the hand-sculpted pine branch, pine cone, and pine needles drape across the form with a sense of graceful movement, while the teardrop-shaped cutout adds an element of whimsical discovery. The idea for this piece came about as a result of the Fan-Built Piece experience that we held on Facebook in the spring of 2014. The form that was chosen for the Reserve Edition Hollyhock Vase here lends itself to an architectural interpretation. This piece has a strong, solid feel and clean lines. The natural world makes an appearance in the form of our favorite inquisitive bird and the earthy tones of the glaze. Handmade to order. Please allow up to four weeks for production and delivery.

A dynamic piece, the Craftsman Pine Bowl, marries Arts & Crafts-style metalwork and architecture with softer elements. The hammered texture and corbels on the shoulder anchor this round form, its hand-sculpted pine cones and needles, and its rich crackle glaze. This piece pairs nicely with the Craftsman Poppy Vase from our 2014 Studio Collection. Handmade to order. Please allow up to four weeks for production and delivery.

Since 1996, Ephraim art pottery vases have been the American decorative arts standard. Our aesthetic celebrates the hand of the maker. Each is wheel-thrown, hand-sculpted, and finished with our signature in-house designed glazes. As a result, the artist is reflected in each individually-crafted vase.

Our nature-inspired art pottery vases bring the outdoors inside your home. They incorporate botanical themes such as poppies, roses, irises, violets, pine needles, pine cones, oak leaves, acorns, and ginkgo leaves. We also enjoy representing animals, such as bats, ravens, cardinals, finches, foxes, bears, mice, cats, rabbits, and other fauna, into our vases.

Are you looking for a vase that fits into a specific spot in your home? We have miniature, small, seasonal-themed, centerpiece, and tall vases, and lidded jars. Ephraim Pottery vases range from two inches tall to 15 inches tall.

Perhaps you are searching for a certain color vase to accentuate your home’s other decorative elements. Our vases come in a range of earthy colors, from greens to olives, blues and teals, and yellows and bronze. These colors can perfectly complement classic decor’s jewel tones and pick up tones in traditional plant-dyed Persian rugs. In addition, our pottery vases’ earthy colors work well as a fresh, interesting conversation piece in minimalist and modern decorative schemes.
