Grueby’s Garden Vase owes inspiration to the historic, late 19th century Grueby Faience Pottery, famous for symmetrical design, low relief leaves and flowers, and  signature textured green glazes. Our innovative throwing technique results in an elegant, severe form that perfectly shows off masterful sculpture and flowing, rich glaze. Handmade to order. No two pieces of the same design look exactly alike, that’s part of the magic of handmade ceramics. Because we lean away from technologies like molds, templates, and casts, each piece is wholly unique. Minor variations in size, decoration, color and finish are intrinsic to our pottery. Floating above the green earth, these sweet, rosy blossoms resemble billowing clouds. Delicate and ephemeral, blown by the spring wind and rain, the sakura soon fall, carpeting the earth with fragrant "snow." Their beauty, like life, is fleeting and must be enjoyed in the present moment. Handmade to order. No two pieces of the same design look exactly alike, that’s part of the magic of handmade ceramics. The ginkgo is often called the "bearer of hope" due to its ability to survive in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles. In folklore, ravens often play the tricksters and here we have portrayed two mischievous and conspiring ravens on a thick tree branch that winds around this vase. Stretching from the bottom to the top of the vase, the branch is separated in the mid-section, enhancing the illusion of depth. Our Mahogany glaze accented with a Crystalline Purple base and a Cranberry rim is the perfect moody background to set the scene.  Handmade to order. No two pieces of the same design look exactly alike, that’s part of the magic of handmade ceramics. Our New Frond vase is a harmonious new friend to perfectly unify your collection. This vase celebrates spring’s earliest arrival—the fiddlehead—on a structured and traditional Arts and Crafts form. Inspired by the historic and iconic Grueby Faience Pottery’s fern-handled vases circa 1910, Ephraim artists revisited the fern and leaf theme in these small, rounded vases. This vase joins our traditional line of vases in four rich patinas. Handmade to order. No two pieces of the same design look exactly alike, that’s part of the magic of handmade ceramics. This bridge, which has no beginning and no end, reminds us that it’s about the journey and not the destination. The Petite Journey Lantern is a companion piece to the Journey Lantern. Ephraim artists have spent the last year experimenting with electric lanterns and we are pleased to offer the Prairie Ginkgo Lantern in our new Studio Collection. A lid adorned with sculpted ginkgo leaves sits atop a narrow tapered form. The organic sculpting on the lid provides a nice counterpoint to the series of square window piercings and formal architecture of the lantern’s base. This lantern provides a soft glowing light—perfect for a night light or other mood lighting. Includes a small removable cord and bulb.

You set out on a foggy morning with a mission to see something new. As you hike up the winding mountain path your effort is at last rewarded with beautiful, secluded falls. This stunning, impressive vase features our favorite neighborhood orchid—the Lady Slipper Orchid. The leaves of the orchid rise diagonally on the face of the vase to form three handles, while the eye-catching blooms rest on the shoulder of the vase, between the leaves. Monochromatic, deep green glaze perfectly sets off the pink and cranberry tones of the orchid. No tree conveys a sense of strength and resilience like the oak. The tiny acorn contains everything necessary to grow into a strong, tall tree that is able to withstand the ravages of weather and time. This piece reminds us that strength and resilience, while they may be manifested on the outside, originate in that essential kernel within. Handmade to order.
