We wonder what this little turtle ponders as he lazes away an idyllic summer day. Ephraim artist, Becky Hansen has an affinity for turtles, and so it is her glazing artistry that brings this vase to life. Our go-to turtle glazer, Becky, glazed many versions of this piece to develop the perfect color scheme that embodied the verisimilitude and pizazz she thought this little turtle deserved.    Handmade to order. Ephraim artists have spent the last year experimenting with electric lanterns and we are pleased to offer the Prairie Ginkgo Lantern in our new Studio Collection. A lid adorned with sculpted ginkgo leaves sits atop a narrow tapered form. The organic sculpting on the lid provides a nice counterpoint to the series of square window piercings and formal architecture of the lantern’s base. This lantern provides a soft glowing light—perfect for a night light or other mood lighting. Includes a small removable cord and bulb.

The Prairie Light Vase pairs a rising Arts & Crafts form with bold, confident hand-carving. Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright architecture and Prairie School stained glass, this design features a yellow poppy, framed by parallel black lines. Glaze scheme and design work together to evoke a leaded window. This piece is a must have for the serious Arts & Crafts collector. Ephraim artists first created this classic Grueby Faience Pottery reproduction piece in 1999.  This monumental vase has remained a part of our line ever since. In recent years, however, the Seven Handled Vase has been a hidden offering -  only available occasionally in our galleries and upon request. We are now pleased to once again present the Seven Handled Vase - the favorite of Arts & Crafts enthusiasts and lamp makers - freshly glazed in our studio favorite organic green. Handmade to order. This stunning, impressive vase features our favorite neighborhood orchid—the Lady Slipper Orchid. The leaves of the orchid rise diagonally on the face of the vase to form three handles, while the eye-catching blooms rest on the shoulder of the vase, between the leaves. Monochromatic, deep green glaze perfectly sets off the pink and cranberry tones of the orchid. Some members of the magnolia family can trace their ancient origins back 95 million years—before bees were the bees knees—and to this day are pollinated instead by beetles. This vase celebrates the magnificent blossoms of the great magnolia tree. Dramatic sculpting and a cascading glaze application of green mingling with vibrant pinks and cranberry make this a stunning statement piece.

The studio revisits our popular Craftsman Rose motif in this tall, elegant vase. Bold architecture and abstract, stylized roses anchor the top of the vase. This bridge, which has no beginning and no end, reminds us that it's about the journey, not the destination. This unique piece exemplifies what can be achieved by pushing the limits to what can be done with clay. The pedestal of the base is hollow. It is topped by an insert that caps off the space inside the pedestal so that it can be used as an urn or to hide small treasures.*  This same cap serves as a base for a pillar candle or tea light to illuminate the lantern. The cut-outs in the base and the lid allow light and heat to escape and enhance the arched design of the bridge. Handmade to order. This impressive piece offers a new twist - literally - on the beloved pine cone motif. Three tree limbs equally spaced around the top of the piece twist down to the shoulder, forming rustic handles. A pair of pine cones accented by long needles extends the design to nearly the full height of the piece. Handmade to order. Each spring we trek into the woods to seek the trillium blooms adorning the forest floor. The faultless symmetry of the trillium represents nature’s order and perfection, and this sweet tile characterizes that quintessential symmetry with the flower centered in a square border. The tritone is a musical interval composed of three adjacent whole tones. Ephraim artists play with a variation on this theme by creating three precisely, hand-rendered flower buds that encircle a small, soft form. The Tritone Vase is available in three glaze colors to coordinate with designs from our musically-inspired Rhythm Line, including the Revival Rose Vase the Lyrical Poppy Vase, and the Regency Poppy Vase.
