Pottery Vases

  • Surrounded by exotic bird calls, damp earthy smells, and comforting humidity, you hike through the rainforest and begin to count the different species of orchids. The variety is so overwhelming that you lose count and simply enjoy the splendid beauty at hand. This vase celebrates the intricate beauty of orchids in the rainforest. Deep, saturated glazes set off confident, detailed sculpting.
  • In this piece strong form and design take their inspiration from Marblehead Pottery - a highly regarded American pottery shop from the 1920’s and 1930’s. Elegant simplicity punctuated with stylized roses lends a beautiful, vintage feel to this vase. Handmade to order. Please allow up to four weeks for production and delivery.
  • A colony of ravens nest in a rookery. In the studio we imagined this rook’s humble abode nestled in the tallest tree in a pine forest. The folksy sculptural style and the atmospheric textural glaze reinforce the storybook quality that makes the Rookery Vase such a special piece. Handmade to order. Please allow up to four weeks for production and delivery.
  • Filtered sunlight casts through the water to highlight the form of a graceful koi. Sculptor, Laura Klein, pushes out the form of the fish from inside the vase and applies further high relief sculptural elements while glazer, Jennifer Alexander artfully applies the glaze to imbue each vase with life and movement.  Handmade to order. Please allow up to four weeks for production and delivery.
  • Since we opened our West Coast Gallery in Cambria, California in 2012, we embraced natural beauty of California. Our California customers encouraged us to feature their state flower, the California Poppy and now we turn to this motif often as a source of inspiration. Here, golden-edged orange poppies encircle the top of a vase glazed in aquamarine tones evoking the Pacific Ocean.
  • Ephraim artists first created this classic Grueby Faience Pottery reproduction piece in 1999.  This monumental vase has remained a part of our line ever since. In recent years, however, the Seven Handled Vase has been a hidden offering -  only available occasionally in our galleries and upon request. We are now pleased to once again present the Seven Handled Vase - the favorite of Arts & Crafts enthusiasts and lamp makers - freshly glazed in our studio favorite organic green. Handmade to order. Please allow up to four weeks for production and delivery.
  • When several Ephraim artists travelled to Costa Rica, they were struck by the beautiful drape and bright blue color of these blossoms, inspiring this hand-sculpted vessel. The skyflower is widely cultivated by Central and South American gardeners for its floral clusters that bloom to attract butterflies and hummingbirds year round. Handmade to order. Please allow up to four weeks for production and delivery.
  • Three sleepy bats hang from twisting tree branch handles on this unique vase. Ephraim artists first apply and then sculpt the branches on the hand-thrown vase, then our sculptors form the hanging bats—three individual sculptures in their own right—and attach them to the vase. Because of all the heavy relief this vase takes up to a week of slow drying time. Ephraim glazers use two glaze firings to achieve moody and dramatic effects that enhance the flowing form and intricately rendered bat sculptural elements of this one-of-a-kind conversation piece. Handmade to order. Please allow up to four weeks for production and delivery.
  • Two cranes reach for the stratosphere in this highly original design. Alek Schroeder, Ephraim’s youngest new artist, developed the pattern and form. Jennifer Alexander, Ephraim glazer, made it soar with an innovative new glazing technique. Handmade to order. Please allow up to four weeks for production and delivery. Looking for a Christmas gift? • Some members of the magnolia family can trace their ancient origins back 95 million years—before bees were the bees knees—and to this day are pollinated instead by beetles. This vase celebrates the magnificent blossoms of the great magnolia tree. Dramatic sculpting and a cascading glaze application of green mingling with vibrant pinks and cranberry make this a stunning statement piece.

Handmade to order. Please allow up to four weeks for production and delivery.

  • The studio revisits our popular Craftsman Rose motif in this tall, elegant vase. Bold architecture and abstract, stylized roses anchor the top of the vase. The strong sculpture fades into soft curves at the bottom of the form, providing a nice counterbalance. Handmade to order. Please allow up to four weeks for production and delivery.
  • This impressive piece offers a new twist - literally - on the beloved pine cone motif. Three tree limbs equally spaced around the top of the piece twist down to the shoulder, forming rustic handles. A pair of pine cones accented by long needles extends the design to nearly the full height of the piece. Handmade to order. Please allow up to four weeks for production and delivery.
