Since opening the Ephraim Pottery West Coast Gallery in Cambria, California in 2012, we have become more familiar with the variety of California’s natural beauty. Local customers encouraged us to create pottery that features their state flower, the California Poppy. Here, golden-edged orange poppies in low relief sculpture are the focal point of a circular composition and vignetted by a hammered texture. The 4-inch tile is glazed in a cheerful Aqua glaze with Teal edges to evoke the colors of the Pacific Ocean.
